Vorovoro
Myself and three other PCVs went to a small island near the town where we live called Vorovoro. They have a resort there called Tribe Wanted - but its closed down right now. The villagers who own the land allowed us to come and stay for a few nights, sleep in their bure's & use the kitchen area. We actually had the WHOLE island to ourselves.
We arrived Saturday morning, unpacked and went straight for the snorkeling. It was really beautiful and relaxing. We were able to have some wonderful sunsets.
Our Easter was spent relaxing, snorkeling & spear fishing. I tried my hand at the spear, but I couldn't swim down low enough to get a fish - I forgot my flippers. While snorkeling I was able to see my first SHARK! There were two white-tip reef sharks swimming around. Luckily I was with two very experienced divers, so I felt very safe, but I was not about to dive down to get a closer look like the other girl did! We did the traditional American holiday thing & ATE all day. One of the PCVs caught several fish with the spear gun so that we could make konkonda - so fresh & delicious! We had a great dinner & a fantastic bonfire.

Our last few hours before going back to the main land were spent in the sun, soaking it all up before it was back to reality. We caught a baby shark & fried it up. It was delicious!
